EYFS - Wingham Wildlife Trip

Friday 2nd May - EYFS Wingham Trip

Year R enjoyed a visit to Wingham Wildlife Park.  The day started with a ride on a double decker bus and the children enjoyed looking out of the window, singing Wheels on the Bus and playing eye spy.  A big cheer could be heard when the children saw the dinosaurs and knew they had arrived at the destination they had been counting down to, for the last two weeks.

Hedgehog class were lucky to see the arctic wolves up close on arrival, followed by the  flamingos, where they caught a glimpse of their babies - flaminglets. The meerkats entertained the children and they spotted the red panda hiding in the tree.  One of the highlights after lunch was standing on the bridge to watch the giraffes being fed and seeing the penguins!

Squirrel class really had a fun packed day, we watched the cheeky Meerkats have a little snack, we said happy birthday to a penguin and we were even made jump by the beautiful Lion, Clarence, but seeing Jaguars, Loki and Luna up close was a real highlight of the day.

We all agreed it “was the best day ever”.

A trip to the park after lunch was a lot of fun and the children enjoyed climbing like the monkeys and pushing one another on the swings.  Both classes were amazed by the moving dinosaurs and could not believe how huge T-Rex and Spinosaurus were.

We all had a wonderful day and the adults are very proud of all the children for being superstars!
