Celebrating Our Students – Birthday Non-Uniform Days from September

Dear Parents, Carers, and the School Community,
At our school, we are always looking for ways to ensure that every single child feels valued, unique, and celebrated. We believe that each student brings something special to our community, and we want to do more to highlight their individuality.
With this in mind, we are delighted to introduce a new tradition starting this September. From the new academic year onwards, we would love to share your child’s birthday with them by inviting them to wear non-school uniform on their special day.
We want this to be a fun, stress-free experience for everyone, so we have put together a few simple guidelines for when birthdays don't fall on a standard school day:
-
Weekend Birthdays: If your child’s birthday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, they may choose to wear their non-school uniform on either the Friday before or the Monday after their birthday.
-
School Holidays & Bank Holidays: If their special day falls during the holidays (including the summer break), they are very welcome to choose either the Friday before the holiday starts, or the Monday when we return to school.
-
Regular School Days: If their birthday is on a normal school weekday, that is their day to shine in their choice of casual clothes!
Please note: There is no cost or donation required for this—this is purely a gift from us to the children to celebrate them as individuals. We only ask that the clothing chosen is safe and appropriate for a normal school day (including practical shoes for playtime).
We are incredibly excited to start this new tradition and look forward to seeing our students celebrate their milestones with an extra splash of colour and personality.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support in making our school a warm, inclusive, and a joyful place to learn.
Warm regards,
Westlands Primary School
