We were learning a crucial outdoor skill at Forest School this week: Square Lashing! 

We used sticks and string to make these little stick men. It was tricky getting the wraps and tension right, but it's amazing how strong the joints are once you finish the turns! This skill is essential for building everything from shelters to stretchers.
