The Ultimate Post-SATS Adventure: Year 6 Take Over Lower Grange Farm!

With the dreaded SATS tests finally done and dusted, 57 legendary Year 6 adventurers headed off to Lower Grange Farm in Maidstone for the ultimate three-day celebration.

After a quick drop-off and a speedy lunch, the buzz reached a fever pitch as everyone discovered their activity groups and—most importantly—their tent buddies for the next two nights! The second the bags were unpacked, the non-stop action exploded into life.

Days 1 & 3: High-Octane Action & Water Wilderness

On Monday and Wednesday, the campsite became a massive adventure playground:

  • Tactical Orienteering: Teams raced across the entire site, decoding maps and coordinating secret maneuvers via walkie-talkies.

  • Laser-Focused Rifle Shooting: After safety briefings, the children channelled their inner secret agents to smash target practice.

  • Tomahawk Throwing: This was a massive crowd-pleaser! It took serious skill and razor-sharp focus to try and slice playing cards right off the target boards.

  • Paddleboarding & Kayaking: Absolutely epic! The lake was the place to be—though it was definitely a bit chilly for the brave souls who wiped out and ended up making a splash!

When the sun went down, the energy didn't stop. Intense, brain-busting team-building games kept everyone hyped. And did it tire the kids out? Not a chance! They successfully kept the teachers wide awake until midnight!

Day 2: Liquid Sunshine & High-Wall Heroes

Even a Tuesday downpour couldn't dampen the spirits. The weather tried its worst, but Year 6 just leveled up! The rainy day was packed with wild new challenges:

  • Indoor Nerf Gun Wars: Pure, unadulterated chaos in the dry!

  • Water Rocket Launching: Sending rockets screaming into the sky over the field (and getting absolutely soaked in the process!).

  • Catapult Engineering: Working indoors to master complex rope lashings and build giant, functional catapults.

  • The Ultimate Climbing Challenge: Starting on the bouldering wall before conquering five jaw-dropping vertical climbing walls. Even the brave teachers strapped into harnesses and gave it a go!

After a wild day, Tuesday evening offered some well-deserved downtime. Everyone cozied up for a relaxing movie night watching Aladdin.

The Verdict: It was a chilly couple of nights, but the awesome bell tents kept everyone bone-dry. More than anything, it was an unforgettable experience filled with laughter, teamwork, and making lifelong memories with friends.

Year 6, you crushed it!
