Forest School Update

Whew! It was another scorcher of a week down at Forest School, but our amazing classes didn't let the heat slow them down. From mastering heavy tools to baking over an open fire, here is a look at what our adventurers got up to:

Crocodile Class: The Great Whistle Workshop

This week, Crocodile Class took on a serious crafting challenge: trying to make working whistles out of elderwood and maplewood. They got hands-on with an impressive array of tools, safely managing hacksaws, palm drills, knives, clamps, and secateurs.

The most important tools of the day? A whole lot of patience and perseverance!

While nature's acoustics can be tricky—and honestly, not many actually produced a sound—we couldn't be prouder of their determination. It was all about the journey, trying out new skills, and giving it 100%!

Leopard Class: Campfire Cooks

On Wednesday, Leopard Class turned into expert bakers. They braved the heat to make some absolutely delicious bread right over the campfire! After working hard next to the flames, they mastered the art of relaxation, spending the rest of their session chilling out and cooling off in the deep shade under the trees.

Squirrel & Hedgehog Class: Stay & Play Thursday

Thursday brought plenty of smiles for our Stay and Play session with Squirrel and Hedgehog Class! It was wonderful to see everyone exploring the wonders of Forest School together. Our little explorers had the opportunity to:

  • Search for hidden bugs and creepy crawlies.

  • Express themselves with mud painting.

  • Sculpt custom masterpieces with clay.
