Forest School Update: Week 3! 

Year 2 has had another incredible week in the woods! Our young adventurers stepped up their woodworking skills to craft their very own Elderwood Bracelets.

Here is a glimpse of what we got up to:

•  Mastering the Tools: The children showed brilliant focus and care while using hacksaws, palm drills, clamps, and mini saw horses to shape and thread their wooden beads.

• Forest Knowledge: We learned an important nature lesson—why we should never climb elder trees! Their branches have a soft, spongy centre called pith, which makes them brittle and unsafe to climb.

• Campfire Treat: To finish off a fantastic session, everyone gathered around the campfire to toast delicious chocolate brioche over the hot flames.

We are so proud of Year 2's enthusiasm, tool safety, and practical skills this week! A great big THANK YOU to the Year 6 team, for supporting the younger pupils, whilst also taking part in the activities.
