Giraffe Class have had a great start to the new year!

Our maths topic this term is money and we have been busy working out what coins we need when finding the exact amount. We even had our own cake shop! 

Our text for English this term is ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch, we have enjoyed reading and acting out the story. We have been ‘brainstorming’ ideas for interesting vocabulary to describe Mr Grinling’s lunch and how he was feeling, to prepare us to retell the story.

Our Artist focus is Georges Seurat; he is famous for his technique for portraying the play of light using tiny brushstrokes of contrasting colours which became known as Pointillism. We have enjoyed learning about this French artist and even had a go at recreating some of his famous artwork.
